TheSafeguardingCop is a specialist safeguarding consultancy established by safeguarding expert Marie Williams.
We support organisations to navigate the complexities of safeguarding with confidence. Whether you are developing safeguarding arrangements from scratch or strengthening existing practice, we act as a trusted critical friend — providing expert, proportionate, and practical support.
Safeguarding responsibilities are increasing across all sectors, and expectations have never been higher. We work with organisations across the public, voluntary, private, and corporate sectors, supporting both statutory and non-statutory safeguarding responsibilities.
Our experience across multiple sectors allows us to develop bespoke, contemporary safeguarding solutions that reflect your organisation’s context, risks, and responsibilities — ensuring safeguarding is effective, embedded, and meaningful in practice.
Alongside consultancy, we also work directly with vulnerable groups through training, workshops, community engagement, and outreach, responding to emerging safeguarding risks and real-world challenges.

Marie has been working in safeguarding for over 25 years and has an incredibly diverse background and experience. She holds a uniquely exclusive position as the only professional with proven safeguarding experience across all three key statutory agencies — Health, Police, and Social Care. Marie is therefore an accomplished Safeguarding Professional with expert knowledge and skills. She has an incomparable perspective and specialist understanding of multi-agency safeguarding, which she uses to create innovative and relevant safeguarding solutions for your organisation.
Marie has worked across all sectors at both operational and strategic levels. She has built an impressive network of Associates who support her in her work, and she is affiliated with many national organisations.
Marie is an accomplished writer, having produced industry-leading guidance, whitepapers and articles, for organisations across different sectors. She is also a confident key note speaker who regularly presents at local and national events.
