TheSafeguardingCop Specialist Consultancy Service was established by Safeguarding expert, Marie Williams.
TheSafeguardingCop supports organisations to effectively collaborate and confidently navigate the world of multi-agency safeguarding. We work with you to support you in improving your safeguarding arrangements, whether it’s help with creating a framework from scratch or, being that critical friend to support you to improve your existing approach.
The world of safeguarding is fast-paced, and it can be difficult for organisations to keep abreast of your ongoing responsibilities to vulnerable people. Now, more than ever, there are increasing expectations of organisations to keep vulnerable people safe, irrespective of the sector you operate in. It is therefore vital that organisations respond to this to ensure you are relevant and contemporary. In not doing so, you put not only your organisation and your reputation at risk, but most importantly, the vulnerable people who rely on you to keep them safe.
Here at TheSafeguardingCop, we understand that this challenge can be daunting. We support organisations that have both statutory and non-statutory safeguarding responsibilities, and we are experienced in working across all public sectors, as well as within the private and corporate space. This allows us to truly understand your challenges and create innovative safeguarding solutions that meet your needs, within the modern-day world.
By having such a diverse view of how the different sectors approach this risk, we are experienced in identifying inventive approaches for your organisation, which can be adopted from different sectors. What works for another sector might just be what you need to help you create a responsive and successful safeguarding strategy?
Although Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, we identify that every organisation is different and requires individualised support. Context and nuance are especially important and here at TheSafeguardingCop we believe in providing bespoke solutions that meet your safeguarding needs. This way you can truly make safeguarding personal.
We also work directly with all vulnerable groups. This may be through outreach work, community engagement, seminars, training or workshops. This could be to address a particular topic of concern. For example, we have recently been working with both professionals and the community in response to the Child Q safeguarding enquiry relating to police stop & search powers, rights of the child and appropriate adult training.
Who is TheSafeguardingCop
Marie has been working in safeguarding for over 25 years and has an incredibly unique background and experience. She is one of a few professionals to have mastered all three key statutory agencies – working within Health, Police and Social Care. Marie is therefore an accomplished Safeguarding Professional with expert knowledge and skills. She has a unique perspective and specialist understanding of multi-agency safeguarding, which she uses to create innovative and relevant safeguarding solutions for your organisation.
Marie has worked across all sectors at both operational and strategic levels. She has built an impressive network of Associates who support her in her work, and she is affiliated with many national organisations.
Marie is an accomplished writer, having produced industry-leading guidance, whitepapers and articles, for organisations across different sectors. She is also a confident key note speaker who regularly presents at local and national events.
